about

This is my first ever live album. It was recorded at Settlements Project, Edinburgh in July 2023. I curated sounds for an exhibit on finding "your place among the stars"; however, most of the sounds are recognizably water: oceans, rain, bubbles... the many shapes which water takes. We stand on the shores of a cosmic ocean and flow from endless tides to the stars and back.

At Night
by William Carlos Williams

The stars, that are small lights—
now that I know them foreign,
uninterfering, like nothing
in my life—I walk by their sparkle
relieved and comforted. Or when
the moon moves slowly up among them
with flat shine then the night
has a novel light in it—curved
curiously in a thin half-circle

"The surface of the Earth is the shore of the cosmic ocean. On this shore, we've learned most of what we know. Recently, we've waded a little way out, maybe ankle-deep, and the water seems inviting. Some part of our being knows this is where we came from."
- Carl Sagan, "Cosmos"
